An Evening of French and Blues - 14th July 2007
At the Wynd Theatre in Melrose, Hilary and Ian Lowthian will delight you with an
enchanting programme of French songs. Hilary's convincing accent with Ian's
authentic accordion music will transport you to France. The second half of the
evening illustrates the flexibility of Hilary's voice as she sings many of your
favourites from the blues era. This show will run and run.

Singer
Hilary continues to be in demand for public and private performance. She
performs with Lucy Cowan, John Nichol and Ian Lowthian in many Burns events and
theatre productions including War & Glaur the Nichol penned comment on the 1st
world war bringing together the writings of many Scottish writers of the period
linked with music written by Hilary to complement the words of the time.

Musician
Hilary has been teaching singing at the Borders Traditional Music Centre in
Selkirk since its opening and has conveyed the enjoyment experienced when
singing to a large number of pupils as they progress through their secondary
education. When they leave they take with them an increased knowledge and
appreciation of traditional music including a large repertoire of material for
personal singing or public performance.

Actress
Hilary joins John Nichol in IDEOMS theatre company to continue the acting
relationship forged with the Rowan Tree Company. Working within this independent
company has allowed both Hilary and John to develop their artistic talents at
their own pace and in their chosen direction.
